How TruePlayers Ltd handles data in Firehawk FPV and on this website. Short version: the game sends anonymous gameplay statistics only, nothing that identifies you, and you can switch it off.
01 — Summary
Privacy notice — as shown on Steam and in the game
Firehawk sends anonymous gameplay statistics (game mode, map, input mode, session start/end, survival wave reached, game version) to help us improve the game. No name, account, or personal information is sent. You can turn this off in Settings.
Anonymous by design
The game never sends your name, Steam account, email, IP address or hardware identifiers to us. Statistics are tagged with a random ID the game makes up on first launch.
Off in one click
Settings → Gameplay → Send Anonymous Gameplay Stats. Turning it off stops all statistics leaving your machine. Nothing else in the game changes.
No ads, no trackers
The game contains no advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs and no engine-level telemetry. Only our own small set of gameplay events is sent.
02 — Who we are
Firehawk FPV is developed and published by TruePlayers Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13512477) with its registered office at Vivian House, Newham Road, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2DP, United Kingdom. In this policy, "TruePlayers", "we", "us" and "our" refer to TruePlayers Ltd.
TruePlayers Ltd is the data controller for the processing described here, except where we say a third party acts independently (for example Steam, which is operated by Valve Corporation under its own privacy policy). You can contact us about privacy at info@trueplayers.co.uk.
03 — Scope
This policy applies to:
It does not cover Steam, Discord, YouTube, Reddit or other platforms we link to. Those services are operated by other companies and have their own privacy policies, which we link to in section 05.
04 — The game
To understand which modes, maps and control schemes people actually play, and where players get stuck or stop, the game sends a small number of gameplay events to a server we operate. Each event contains only the fields below. There is no free-text field, and nothing in the payload identifies you, your Steam account or your computer.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Event | Which of three things happened: a play session started, a multiplayer match ended, or a play session ended. | play_start |
| Player ID | A random 16-character code the game generates on first launch and stores in your local save data. It is not derived from your Steam account, hardware or anything else about you. Deleting the game's save data gives you a new one. | 9f3c2a7b1e5d8046 |
| Session ID | A random code per play session so a start and its matching end can be paired. | 4b1e… |
| Context | Single-player, co-op or multiplayer. | coop |
| Input mode | Which control scheme was active: FPV transmitter, gamepad (realistic), gamepad (arcade) or mouse & keyboard. | fpv |
| Join method | Multiplayer only: whether you created the room, used Find Game, the server browser or a room code. | find_game |
| Game mode | The mode being played. | survival |
| Map | The name of the level(s) loaded. | World_3 |
| Region | Multiplayer only: the network region the match ran in (continent-level, e.g. Europe). Not your location. | eu |
| Outcome | How the session ended: died, quit, returned to menu or disconnected. | died |
| Survival wave | Survival modes only: the wave reached. | 12 |
| Duration | Length of the session in seconds. | 840 |
| Game version | The version of Firehawk FPV you are running. | 1.4.2 |
| Platform | The operating system family reported by the game engine. | WindowsPlayer |
| Timestamp | Added by our server when the event is received. | — |
How it travels and where it lives. Events are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to a service we run on Cloudflare's network and stored in a database we control. Like any web request, the connection necessarily exposes your IP address to Cloudflare for the moment it takes to deliver the message, but we do not record it, and it is not part of the stored event.
Turning it off. Open Settings → Gameplay and untick Send Anonymous Gameplay Stats. The setting is saved on your machine and takes effect immediately. While it is off, no statistics are sent at all. The game plays identically either way.
Editor and server builds. Statistics are never sent from our dedicated game servers, only from the game client on your PC.
When you play online, some information has to be shared so that a match can work:
At the main menu the game fetches two small pieces of public information from services we run on Cloudflare: the Play Nights schedule and the list of live public servers used by Find Game. These are ordinary web requests. They carry no account information and we do not keep a record of who requested them.
Your settings, control bindings and calibration, progress, the analytics on/off switch and the random player ID described above are stored locally on your PC in the game's save data. They are not uploaded to us.
05 — Third parties
We use a small number of specialist providers to run the game and the website. Where they process data on our instructions they act as our processors; where they run their own platform (Steam, Discord, YouTube) they are independent controllers and their own policies apply.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share gameplay statistics with anyone outside TruePlayers except the processors above, or where the law requires it.
06 — This website
The website is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no login and no forms that submit data to us. It uses a few third-party tools, described below together with the choices you have:
With your permission we use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. These set cookies and collect information such as the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from an ad or a search), your approximate region, browser and device type, and a random identifier used to recognise repeat visits. We use this to understand how people find the site and how often a visit leads to the Steam store page. Google processes this data under its own terms and may combine it with other data if you are signed in to a Google account.
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, nothing runs until you choose. On your first visit a banner asks whether you allow these cookies. "Reject all" is as easy as "Accept all", and you can choose analytics and advertising measurement separately under "Manage choices". No Google script is loaded, and no cookie is set, until you allow at least one category. Your choice is stored on your device for 12 months, after which we ask again. We decide whether to show the banner from your device's timezone setting; we do not look up your location and no request is made to do so. If the timezone is unknown we show the banner.
Elsewhere, where the law does not require opt-in consent, these tools run when the page loads and no banner is shown. You can still opt out at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page; your choice is then saved and respected on every visit. We also honour the browser Global Privacy Control signal everywhere: if your browser sends it, we treat it as "Reject all" and load nothing.
Changing or withdrawing your choice removes the Google cookies we can reach and stops any further collection.
If you allow them, the cookies set are Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*; up to 2 years) and Google Ads (_gcl_au and related _gcl_* cookies; up to 90 days). The only thing stored without asking is your cookie choice itself, kept in your browser's local storage so we do not have to ask on every page. You can additionally use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your Google ads settings.
The trailer on the home page is an embedded YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). It loads only when you click play, and in this mode YouTube does not use cookies to personalise or track viewing on our site, although YouTube (Google) may still record that the video was watched under the Google Privacy Policy.
The site is served by GitHub Pages. GitHub may record standard server logs, including visitor IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. We do not have access to individual log entries.
Links to Steam, Discord, Reddit and YouTube take you to those services, where their own policies apply.
07 — Lawful basis
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 we rely on the following bases:
08 — Retention
09 — Transfers
We are based in the United Kingdom. Some of our providers process data outside the UK: Photon in Germany (EU), Edgegap in Canada and on servers in the regions where matches are hosted, and Cloudflare, GitHub and Google in the United States and on their global networks. Where personal data leaves the UK we rely on UK adequacy regulations (for the EU and Canada), the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable, together with the providers' own security commitments.
10 — Security
All traffic between the game or the website and our services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our backend accepts gameplay events only from the game client, validates and truncates every field before storing it, and stores only the fields listed in section 04. Access to the statistics database and server logs is limited to the TruePlayers team. The most effective safeguard, though, is the one built into the design: we simply do not collect information that could identify you.
11 — Children
Firehawk FPV is not directed at children under 13, and Steam requires account holders to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the gameplay statistics we collect are anonymous, they cannot be linked to any individual of any age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12 — Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113.
A practical note on gameplay statistics. Because they are anonymous and never linked to your Steam account or any contact details, we have no way of finding "your" rows in the database if you ask us to. The controls that do work are in your hands: untick Send Anonymous Gameplay Stats in Settings → Gameplay to stop any further events, and delete the game's local save data to discard the random player ID.
For anything else, email us at info@trueplayers.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
13 — Changes
If we start collecting something new, or change how we use what we collect, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. For material changes we will also post a notice on the Steam news page and in our Discord. This page is the authoritative version; the short notice shown on Steam and in the game is a summary of it.
